Five persons were trapped in a flash flood triggered by heavy rainfall and cloudburst in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir on July 20. The incident took place in the Kathua district.

The visual features five people, including a minor, rescued by the authorities in a chopper after being stranded in a flash flood. The rescuers lower a ladder onto the ground, following which the panic-stricken locals climb up one by one. Later, as they take a sigh of relief, the chopper transports them to safety.

Furthermore, these individuals went to the riverbed early in the morning and got trapped after the river began overflowing. Following this, the Kathua police were alerted, and they immediately swung into action. Moreover, the rescue unfolded under the supervision of Sachit Mahajan, a Jammu and Kashmir Public Service (JKPS) official.
