Smoke rose into the air after an out-of-control bus smashed into the pavement in southern China.

The video, shot in the city of Liuzhou in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on August 20, shows an out-of-control bus smashing through the central reservation, bumping into a car before crashing into a shop.

Thick white smoke then rose into the air as passengers got off the bus and used extinguishers to spray the wheels to prevent them from catching fire.

According to reports, the bus wheel rubbed with the ground causing the smoke.

Five passengers on the bus, two people in the car and one passenger were sent to hospital for a checkup.

Two out of eight people had minor injures. The case is under further investigation.

8月20日11时50分许，一辆车牌号为桂B14913D的81路公交车沿柳州市柳江区柳堡路由西往东方向行驶至恒泰大酒店前路段时突然失控，先后与道路中央隔离栏、停放在路边车牌号为桂BTB117的白色小轿车、路边一店面门头发生碰撞，造成公交车紧急制动后左后轮轮胎与地面摩擦产生浓烟。事发后，公交车司机及车上人员立即自发自救下车，并使用干粉灭火器对车辆的左后轮进行喷射，防止车轮起火。接到群众报警后，柳州市、柳江区立即组织公安、交警、应急、消防等相关部门到现场开展调查处置，并迅速将公交车上的5人、小轿车上的2人及1名路人，共8人送医院检查。经医院检查，确认8人中的2人（1人为公交车乘客、1人为路人）轻微受伤，其余6人无大碍，已自行离开医院。

目前，交警部门已将公交车司机带回调查；事故原因调查等工作正在进行中。（视频由广西台提供）
