A horrific collision took place between a bus and a truck on Darbhanga-Muzaffarpur NH-57 near Shobhan Chowk at 2 pm on Friday night. In this accident, 37-year-old Syed Shamshad, a resident of Chainpur in Kaimur district, died, while about two dozen passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries.

It is said that the bus of Etiana Travel Company was going to Patna carrying passengers from Purnia. Meanwhile, a truck laden with sand from the forelane made a sudden turn towards Shobhan-Ekmi bypass from Muzaffarpur side. Where the bus going to Patna collided with high speed.

The sand laden truck overturned on the forelane itself. Whereas, the front part of the bus got blown up. The police of Simri police station, who reached the spot, took out the driver and passengers trapped in the bus and admitted them to DMCH Hospital in turn.

At the same time, many injured and safe survivors left for Patna after taking another car with their luggage in the midst of the chaos.
