A group of cave houses in China, known locally as 'yaodong', collapsed due to a recent heavy rainstorm.

Video filmed in the city of Yan'an in Shaanxi Province on September 4 shows a row of six cave houses collapsing.

According to reports the cave houses, sometimes known as Loess houses after the Loess plateau where they are commonly built, were still under construction as a new development.

However due to the heavy rain, the unfinished cave houses collapsed. No casualties were reported.
