Walk to the dam with the Jabulani herd of elephants and watch as they help orphaned albino calf to her feet when she falls over
Khanyisa is an orphaned albino elephant rescued in January 2020 from a poacher’s snare. She came to Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD) and went through three months of rehabilitation for the horrific wounds caused by the snare. Since then, Khanyisa has been integrated into the Jabulani herd of rescued elephants and now spends her days out in the wild with them.
In this video, you will walk with the herd as Adine Roode, owner of HERD and Jabulani Safari, talks through what is happening. Khanyisa takes a sweet stumble and the adult elephants run to help her up.
