Partial road closures caused long traffic tailbacks as a team moved to evict a protest camp standing in the way of a planned new high speed rail route in Wendover, UK, on Sunday 10 October.

The National Eviction Team, acting for the high-speed rail link HS2, prepared to evict WAR (Wendover Active Resistance camp) early on Sunday morning.

At the time of filming, only two protestors had been evicted, while the remainder are in trees and a tunnel.

HS2, full name High Speed 2, is a planned fast railway network, whose first phase will run between London and Birmingham, with extensions planned later. The London-Birmingham route is currently under construction but has run into local opposition in some areas.
