An innovative street vendor who injured one of his hands invented a robotic tool to help him cook – serving up ‘robot fried rice’.

Mo Soleh, a regular at the shop in Indonesia filmed the mechanical hand mixing rice in a large wok while he waited for his meal on October 12.

Stall owner Dartadi, 54, told him he injured his left arm in an accident three years ago, which left him unable to prepare large portions of food. Not to be disheartened, he fitted his stall with the robotic mixer to lend him a helping hand.

M Soleh, from Malang, East Java, said: ‘The food they sell is delicious and the owner is also very smart because he thought of making such a machine so that he would not have difficulty mixing rice. He is the only one who has that here in our area.’

Dartadi’s invention has reportedly improved his productivity and earned him attention among the locals, who flock to the stall to buy his famed ‘robot fried rice’.
