12 people burnt to death as bus catches fire after colliding with tanker in Rajasthan

At least 12 people are feared dead after a private bus which they were travelling in caught fire after colliding with a tanker trailer on Barmer-Jodhpur Highway in Rajasthan on Wednesday.
According to a passenger, the bus departed from Balotra at 9:55 am and the accident took place when the tanker, coming from the wrong side of the road, collided with the bus. The bus went up in flames following the collision.
There were 25 people travelling in the bus when the accident took place. So far, 10 people have been rescued. Rescue operations are underway.
Following the mishap, officials of district administration and police reached the spot.
State environment and forest minister Sukhram Bishnoi, Pachpadra MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Madan Prajapat, Barmer Collector Lokbandhu Yadav, Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava were also present at the accident site.
The accident has led to a massive traffic jam on the highway.
