A car carrying four passengers got stuck in a swollen river in the state of Andhra Pradesh, southern India, on November 19, after extreme flash floods hit the area.

Police officers used an earthmover to try to rescue them without any success.

Luckily, an Indian Air Force helicopter was deployed to the scene. The four people who were stranded in the water were airlifted to safety.

The footage also captures the moment a huge crowd who was standing by the river exulted while witnessing the successful rescue operation.

Heavy rainfall and intensified weather conditions wreaked havoc and caused extensive damage in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on November 19. The incident took place in Veldurthi village in Chennekothapalli Mandal in the Anantapur district.

Visuals feature the Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter reaching the spot, to begin with, the rescue operation in broad daylight for relief measures. Following this, the rescuers airlift the stranded victims to safety while a huge crowd gathers in the vicinity to witness and behold the occurrence. Moreover, the anxious crowd on the shore cheers each time one person gets lifted into the chopper.

A car with four passengers on board got stuck amid the river due to flash floods, following which the theDharmavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramakanth and police officials took the help of an earthmover and the Fire Department personnel to rescue the stranded individuals. However, the excavator got stuck in the gushing stream of water, making any movement impossible. Moreover, the four car passengers, two Fire Department personnel, and four other local swimmers, along with the excavator operator, were posing a life-threatening situation.

Fortunately, the Chief Minister got in touch with the Indian Navy officers at Visakhapatnam, but later the Indian Air Force at Yelahanka was contacted for the rescue operation. Following this, the chopper with seven crew members reached and rescued everyone on the vehicle, averting a major tragedy.
