A huge column of smoke generated by a fire at a factory in Santiago could be seen from a passing plane.

Footage from November 29 shows a passenger's view of the rising smoke as a plane passed over Quilicara.

Another clip from the ground shows a close-up view of the column of thick smoke rising into the air.

Nearby schools and nurseries have been suspended due to the smoke.
