A TikTok influencer has revealed an "amazing” Christmas gift DIY hack – showing how to make bargain presents at home for less than £6 ($10 CAD).

Jazmin Barnes, 23, from Vancouver, Canada, was stuck on gift ideas when inspiration struck and she decided to try making her own presents.

In a TikTok video that has since gone viral, the influencer reveals how to create 'designer' T-shirts that cost next to nothing but look amazing – and users can't enough of the nifty trick.

In the clip, Jazmin shows a cheap retail website and points to some $3 t-shirts.

She then scrolls to an Amazon page, displaying some transfer paper, which costs $9.

The TikTok star tells people to be creative and print logos or images to use on the fabric.

She then cuts out a Nike logo and places it on a shirt followed by the transfer paper, before ironing the image on and revealing the finished result.

In total, Jazmin spent a total of $34.99 for five family members using the money-saving hack.

“Honestly, I was just on the hunt for some designer T-shirts of my own but everywhere I saw online seemed pretty pricey,” Jazmin said.

“I started thinking about how I could make these myself and I saw a few people on YouTube and TikTok printing fun designs on tee shirts using a bunch of different methods including cling wrap, ironing patches and transfer paper.

“So I did some research and the cheapest yet most efficient way to print things on clothing was the transfer paper I found on Amazon.

“I ordered all the supplies I needed and started making my own designer shirts when I realised my family and friends would love these too!”

Jazmin has also added rhinestone logos for some of her families designer T-shirts.

She said: “I also made my dad a hat with one of his favourite sayings on it, which shows how you can really do this DIY on any piece of clothing!”

Jazmin shared the tip on her TikTok (@jazrabarnes) – assuring her 21,700 followers that they don't have to over-spend at Christmas.

The full-time digital marketer and social media specialist is particularly proud of her hack because it allows others to save money during the holidays.

Jazmin added: “To anyone trying my DIY, really personalise the gift to whoever you are planning on giving it to!

"The main purpose of the video was to make designer tees but it is not limited to that at all, really put some thought into the person you are gifting to, what is something meaningful or funny that would make this gift special to them."

The "amazing" hack racked up 121,500 views on TikTok so far.
