Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile was successfully flight tested by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) in eastern India's Odisha on December 7. The incident took place at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur.

Visuals feature the final countdown beginning, following which the missile is launched towards the sky. Within seconds, dense clouds of white smoke engulf the area as the launch vehicle soars into the sky while the others behold the occurrence.

The launch of the system was conducted to validate the integrated operation of all weapon system components including the vertical launcher unit with controller, canisterised flight vehicle, weapon control system, etc. required for future launches of the missile from Indian Naval Ships.
