A driver was terrified when a snake emerged on the front of the car.

Video shows the reptile slithering on the car's windshield in Suphanburi, Thailand on December 12.

Driver Natthanan Sampantamit said: "I saw the snake moving after visiting a temple. I didn't want to hurt it so I parked my car and let it free."

The shaken motorist pulled over and used the wipers to try and dislodge the serpent but it reared up and stared menacingly.

She recorded the scary ordeal which ended when the snake, believed to be a non-venomous radiated rat snake, slipped off the side of the vehicle and slithered away.
