A major nor’easter brought damaging winds, heavy snow and freezing rain to Atlantic Canada this weekend.

"Just after 11 pm on Friday [January 14], conditions looked like this in the little community known as Sluice Point, Nova Scotia. High winds peaked over 90 km/h with near without conditions overnight. In the morning on Saturday we woke up to high drifts of snow to clear."

Local media reported that 25,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were without electricity on Saturday and flights at Halifax airport had been cancelled.
