A Cold Front Brings Rare Sea Smoke and Surfers to South Florida Waters

Buy video

Rare sea smoke (low fog) formed in the wake of a cold front that passed through South Florida over the weekend causing temperatures to plunge into the mid-40s by dawn Monday. The wispy sea smoke danced gracefully on the waves at sunrise. The cold front also delivered a swell that drew surfers, most in wetsuits, into the ocean on the frigid morning. Fortunately for them, water temperatures are in the mid-70s. This video features clips of the sea fog and beach walkers along with drone footage of surfers catching waves.
