The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for kids (PICKids) officially begins today, on February 3, for children aged between 5 and 11. Malaysia Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said 'PICKids' was important to prevent the children from Multisystem Inflammation Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) complications, long COVID and death, as 9,413 cases of COVID-19 involving unvaccinated children aged 7 to 11 were recorded since January 1 this year. The vaccination of children aged between 5 and 11 under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Kids (PICKids) will be done on a voluntary basis and no restrictions will be imposed on unvaccinated children.
