A woman rescued a duckling from drowning and performed CPR on the struggling baby bird.

Rhea Camille Mallari said she was walking around a resort when she saw the yellow bird battling to stay afloat in the water in Bataan province, the Philippines on February 7.

She then scooped the bird up and took it to their cottage where she pressed its chest to force it to breathe again.

After a few moments, the bird could be seen moving again. It was then adopted by the woman and taken home with her after asking permission from the resort administration.

Rhea named the duckling Daisy.

She said: 'We were walking around the resort when I saw her. I thought she knew how to swim, and she was just playing dead.

'However my Dad told us she was drowning. I ran to get a pole and took her before doing CPR. I was glad she's okay now. I decided to adopt her and called her Daisy.'
