Hundreds of bottles of beer spilt from a truck while making a u-turn in Thailand.

Broken bottles and six-pack cans scattered across a road when a six-wheeler delivery truck's back door lock snapped as it made a turn in Buriram province on February 23.

More than 100 boxes and crates of beer were lost in the incident while a passenger who was at the back of the truck sustained cuts and bruises.

Rescuers arrived at the site and tended to the injured passenger while the others helped clear the road from the shards of glasses.

Police Major Jirraroj Mongkolthanasupat said: 'We received a call for traffic management at a u-turn in Nangrong Municipality. Several boxes of alcoholic beverage fell from a truck with one man injured.'

The estimated cost of the spilt beers was 300,000 baht (9,180 USD).

Driver Prasert Sangprapai, 25, said he was heading to drop off the crates and boxes to customers when he heard a loud crash while making a turn.

He added: 'Before the accident, we stopped to refuel, maybe that was where we failed to secure the back door of the truck properly.

'I stopped while heading to a u-turn upon hearing the crash and saw beers scattered on the road.'

The driver was fined over the incident.
