A black sedan turned white when hundreds of barrels of paint fell out of the back of a lorry and spilt out all over the road.

Dramatic phone footage shows an entire section of the road covered in white after the lorry transporting the paint overturned at a bend in Guangdong, China.

Nearly 100 barrels of paint rolled off and hit the car behind the moment the large vehicle toppled over, according to local media reports.

Visible tyre marks were left behind by the lorry, with its driver having struggled to make the sharp turn.

Some of the lost cargo had landed on a black sedan travelling behind the lorry, smearing almost its entire front in white paint.

The images then show motorists slowly reversing away from the scene.

Eyewitnesses speculated that the lorry driver might have failed to secure the door of the loaded trailer properly.

No injuries were reported.
