A 21-year-old young snake catcher was bitten a cobra while he was showing off and doing stunts with three rescued snakes in south India.

Maaz Syed was called to rescue several snakes in Sirsi town, Uttar Kannada district, in Karnataka on March 13th.

Syed stated that after rescuing the cobras he went into the jungle to leave them there and claims that during the release of the snakes he was checking the cobras' teeth and one of them bit him on his knee.

He was shifted to hospital by locals there and he was admitted for several days before getting released on March 16th.

According to snake rescuers in India, Syed was showing off keeping three cobras in check and playing around with them. This is reportedly a very popular stunt that many people perform despite the serious danger from the venomous snakes.
