A group of women from a Trimbak, Maharashtra, risk their lives to retrieve water by climbing down a deep well.

As parts of western India face a heatwave, these villagers are taking more and more risks to fetch water.

Footage from April 4 shows a woman climbing down a deep wall to fill multiple buckets of water.

Local authorities have requested water pumps be installed so these villagers don't have to endanger themselves for water.

India is witnessing scorching heatwave in many parts , many parts of India faces water shortage during this time , women In rural areas fetch water from wells using ropes but due to scorching heat water in wells also get dry and its not easy to fetch water using ropes . So women living in villages risks their life and go down into the well to get the water
In one such incident in Nashik’s Trimbakeshwar Taluk in the state of Maharashtra woman can be seen making her way down through almost invisible steps into the well to fetch water , others women above the well throws their bucket tied with ropes and the women downside fill it with water . Sometimes one or two women go down together sometime they make their turn to go downside .
As son as the story came into media the state minister directed authorities to send water tankers to the viilage so that women don’t rick their lives and also instructed to install water pumps here .According to reports, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted intense heatwave hitting the state of Maharashtra up until April 10, particularly the isolated parts of Vidharbha.
