Footage shows locals in Prayagraj trying to cope with the scorching heat on April 30.

The country's Meteorological Department (IMD) has shared data dating back to 1921 seeing multiple areas across the country record temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius and higher in April 2024, making it the hottest month on record.

The IMD predict the next five days are going to be hotter.
