Two Georgian fighters, Davit Menabdishvili and Nika Shanava, who were killed fighting in Ukraine, have been brought to Georgia to be buried there.

The footage shows family members, relatives and ordinary citizens gathered at Tbilisi International Airport to pay their respects.

The Georgian and Ukrainian anthems where played when the two were taken out of the airport and they were covered in the flags of both countries.

The two men were killed on April 9 during fighting near the town of Izumi in Ukraine.

Davit Menabdishvili was transferred to his hometown in Rustavi. He was greeted by relatives and fellow citizens with flags and flowers at the entrance to Rustavi. Part of the citizens paid tribute to his memory by kneeling in silence.

Davit Menabdishvili was laid to rest in the Sioni Church in Rustavi, where a civil funeral will be held. According to the available information, the Rustaveli military will be buried tomorrow.
