A greedy 13ft-long python was caught after eating ten chickens in a farmer’s coop in Thailand.

The reptile attacked the sleeping Bantam birds on a farm in Ang Thong province on April 19.

It was only discovered a few hours later when the owner was about to feed the flock and realised the chickens were gone. Rescuers were called to the scene as it refused to leave the cage with its bloated belly.

Upon arrival, the female snake wrangler Rata Tapiantong and her team went over to the cage and dragged the large python out which spat its meal of eight chicks and two hens.

Farm owner Sanae Suksabai said: ‘I knew it had eaten all of my chickens because its stomach was so big. It ate so much it could not slither out from the cage.’

The python was then kept in a container and released to the wild away from the village.
