Swans crossing the road (Liverpool) bring traffic to a standstill [27/06/2015]
On Sunday June 17th, around 11:00am, I was walking my Pug dog, Frank, and spotted a police van with its lights flashing, moving oddly forwards and backwards. Upon closer inspection, I spotted that they were trying to keep a family of swans (and cygnets) safe. Moments later, the family walked themselves to the crossing and started crossing the road.
The police attempted to stop traffic and drivers were very accommodating, allowing them to cross - it was a crazy sight!
They were likely returning to the small lake that is situated on the other side of the road.
