This is the painful moment a stubborn hermit crab pinched and clung onto a woman's palm in the Philippines.

Jam Crisologo recorded the incident on June 11 as he and his friends were taking a vacation in Dinapigue, Isabela province.

Footage shows Jam's friend panicking as she struggled to remove the hermit crab from her hand. Her friends came to her aid, using cigarettes, lighters, and a pair of scissors to try and get the stubborn mollusk to let go.

The hermit crab finally detached itself after more than five minutes.

Jam said: 'We were just hanging out, and one of my friends wanted to see a hermit crab. I saw a big one and handed it over to her. She was supposed to take a picture, but she got pinched.'
