Residents and emergency officials were seen assessing the damage of fatal airstrikes fired by Russian forces that hit Odesa, southern Ukraine.

Exclusive footage filmed on May 10 shows smoke still rising into the air from the sites of seven missiles that hit the port city the day before.

The barrage of strikes that hit a shopping centre and a consumer goods warehouse killed one person and left five injured.

Firefighters successfully extinguished blazes at three warehouses that caught fire as a result of airstrikes in the Suvorovsky district of the city.

Aleksandr, a civilian who lives in Odesa, describes his terrifying ordeal: "We saw a massive flash that was followed by a blast. We ran out to the balcony and saw smoke on the horizon, lots of it."

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for international help to end the Russian blockade of Odesa in order to prevent a food crisis.
