A passenger slipped and fell down while trying to board a moving train in western India's Maharashtra, but was fortunate to live another day as an alert cop pulled him away to safety.

The incident happened at the Dadar railway station when the person was trying to board the 17057 Down Devagiri Express on May 18.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the man slipping and falling on platform number five as he was trying to get on the train, which was moving at a good pace.

A person from the train tried to help but couldn't stop him from falling with his feet in the gap between the platform and the train.

RPF Constable Chandan Thakur, who was present at the situation, reacted quickly and he along with others pulled the man out of the gap between the train and the platform.

The passenger, identified as Ashish Ashokrao Borkar, 39, later said that he was fine and hadn't suffered any injury as a result of this fall.

A resident of Nagpur, Borkar said he had intended to go to Manmad from Dadar.

Since he arrived late and the train had set off, he decided to run and board the moving vehicle, which led to this accident.
