A group of kind tourists rescued a hapless stray puppy that was trapped in a crevice on a cliff in Thailand.

Dechathorn Dejboonyaruth and his friends were visiting the Cham Nieng cliff in Surin province on June 5, accompanied by a pack of stray dogs as they made the hike to the tourist spot's peak.

Upon reaching the summit, they decided to rest while waiting to watch the sunrise. As they were relaxing, however, they heard the anguished cries of a puppy nearby.

They ran to check the source of the sound and found the female pooch stuck in a narrow gap between the rocks.

Footage shows how the pitiful animal yelped in pain while trapped in the small space. It was unable to free itself as its hind legs were wedged in the crack.

The kind tourists then pulled it out, allowing the pup to limp away towards its family safe and sound.
