Locals held a hilarious 'water boxing' tournament during a community sports festival in Thailand.

The contestants had to box over a 30ft wide swimming pool as they battled to stay planted on a thick PVC pipe at a school stadium in Surin province on May 31. Whoever managed to push their opponent into the 4ft deep water was the winner.

Organisers said all people were welcome to join the funny contest, known locally as 'sea boxing', regardless of age or gender.

Other games such as football, volleyball, and takraw or kick volleyball were also held.

The event is part of a sports competition arranged by the Kae Yai Subdistrict Administration to 'enhance the health of the people' and foster discipline, love, harmony, and sportsmanship in the community.
