Beautiful sun halo forms in sky over Thailand
This is the moment a beautiful sun halo formed in the sky over Thailand.
The mesmerising weather phenomenon was spotted in Ang Thong province on July 1, encircling the sun with a colourful, glowing ring.
The sight attracted the attention of the locals, who believed it was a good omen.
Scientists believe haloes are formed when ice crystals from high cirrus clouds reflect sunlight or moonlight. They are sometimes called 22-degree haloes because the radius of the ring is roughly 22 degrees.
The halo's size differs depending on the angle of reflection.
