A shocked rider battled to lure out a snake from his motorcycle using a stick.

Exequiel Butao parked outside a convenience store to buy food but when he returned, he noticed something moving inside the scooter's box in General Santos City, the Philippines on July 4.

When he checked closer, he saw a 2ft-long snake wriggling inside so he called for help before the creature hid deeper into the motorcycle's interior.

Footage shows the snake inside the scooter as the rider struggled to lure it out with a stick.

The rider said: ‘When I saw the snake, I felt chills on my body. I was really scared. I called for help and we pulled the snake out together.'

A passerby helped the rider remove the snake from the two-wheeler and after almost an hour, the snake was pulled out.

The snake sighting was reported to local authorities who later went to the area to catch it but it had disappeared to the grassy area of the village.
