5 Fire engines and 25 Firefighters Race to Flat fire on Reading A4 Bath Road

5 Fire engines from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Stations raced to reports of a house fire on the A4 Bath Road. Crews from Caversham Road , Wokingham and Whitley Wood originally were mobilised however a "Make Pumps 5 Message" was made requesting 2 further appliances from Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Stations Henley and Goring were mobilised along with 2 RBFRS officers and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood.

Crews used Breathing apparatus sets to enter the property to search for reports of casualties along with hose reel jets. Crews were joined by collegues from Thames Valley Police & South Central Ambulance Service and remained on scene for over an hour closing the A4 Bath road towards Calcot from Reading while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
