Two cats were captured stealing food in a fridge at night in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on August 2 shows a bigger cat trying to take food out of a fridge and a smaller cat eating at the bottom.

According to the cats' owner Mr Yang, he heard some noise in his living room when he was sleeping so he thought it was a thief.

However, he saw two cats had opened the fridge door and stole food from it.

Yang said to Shaanxi Television that the fridge is only 1 metre high and the door was not that tight. The cats may have smelled the chicken breast in the fridge so they opened it to steal the food.
