A motorist driving through Walthamstow, north London, unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade after being confronted by a cyclist over a close pass.

The biker is heard saying "that ain't 1.5 metres is it?" as the car passes them by on Lea Bridge Road.

Footage recorded by Dave Sherry's helmet camera on August 6 captured the sweaty confrontation.

The motorist points out that there is a cycle lane on the pavement but the cyclist states it is "not compulsory" for him to ride in it.

According to the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain: "A cycle lane marked by a solid (unbroken) white line. It is 'mandatory' in the sense that drivers of motor vehicles are not permitted to enter it, rather than being mandatory for cyclists to use it.

"Drivers are not permitted to cross the unbroken white line."

Sherry then asks if the driver is going to apologise, to which the motorist responds with, "I couldn't give a f***!'
