This timelapse video, published by America’s National Weather Service, shows storm clouds gathering near Las Vegas on Thursday (28July2022). Monsoon storms dumped heavy rain across Sin City and the surrounding valley that night, triggering flash flooding along the Vegas Strip that breached the floors of several famous casinos. A Flash Flood Warning and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning were issued by the National Weather Service for Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. A gust of 59 mph was measured at Harry Reid International Airport just before 10 p.m. local time Thursday, but the Las Vegas Strip reported a 71-mph gust. Parts of Las Vegas received more than an inch of rainfall.
