Footage taken this evening (August 11) shows £14,000-a-term Cheltenham College with their grass sprinklers turned on, despite the current drought conditions and the school being closed for the summer holidays. Only today, residents of Cheltenham received texts from Severn Trent Water advising them to “use water wisely”. Some regions in the South of England are already under hosepipe bans.

In addition, Sky News reported on Thursday evening that droughts could be declared in "quite a few regions" of the UK on Friday including the southwest of England, citing a source at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
