These videos show the aftermath of a deadly Russian missile attack on a residential block in Kharkiv, in the North East of the country on Wednesdaynight (17August2022). Ukraine’s President and his aide Kyrylo Tymoshenko condemned the attack, with the latter saying preliminary data indicated at least six people died and 16 were wounded in the strike on Ukraine’s second city. Zelensky branded the attack “vile and cynical” and added that it “had no justification and shows the powerlessness of the aggressor”. He also vowed revenge. Kharkiv came under heavy bombardment in the early days of the war due to its closeness to the Russian border, but had some respite over the summer as Russian forces focused their attention on the Donbas region in the South East, and the consolidating gains in the South. However, ranged attacks have increased in recent weeks.
