A brave woman in the city of Khanna, located in India's Punjab, managed to fight off two male thieves who attempted to steal her gold chain.

Meenu, a school teacher, stopped at her home on Peerkhana Road with her child on September 12.

The bike-riding thieves then rode past and one of them grabbed the chain from the teacher's neck.

Meenu said: "Suddenly two bike-borne snatchers pounced on me and they snatched my gold chain, during that I managed to hold the collar of the rider.

"I was dragged for few metres on road, I pulled down one snatcher to the ground and fought with him. He dropped my gold chain and fled with his aide."

After hearing the commotion, Meenu's neighbours rushed out to chase away the bikers.

The incident was captured by nearby homeowner Gurdeep Singh's CCTV camera.

Listening to noise , neighbours also came out of their house and chased the bikers , but they fled from the place.

The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras of the locality.
