A group of trekkers were forced to climb a tree to escape an oncoming herd of elephants in Kekirawa, Sri Lanka.

Tour guide Sanjaya Madushan Wickamasiri filmed as the elephants trampled on the group's bike helmets they left on the ground.

The trekkers climbed the tree as they could not reach their bikers before the elephants arrived.

Another group of people managed to ward off the jumbos by making loud noises, allowing the trekkers to climb down from the tree.

A group of trekkers who came to the lake reserve to see wild elephants had to face a very horrible experience. Due to the presence of wild elephants all over the grassland, the climbers had to leave their helmets at the root of the tree and climb the tree. Later, the herd of wild elephants came to the root of the tree and started destroying the herd by trampling on the helmets.
