A driver in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, managed to capture the moment hundreds of milk cartoons splattered onto a road.

Dashcam footage filmed on Friday morning (September 16) shows the truck driving past a Morrisons supermarket store.

As the heavy goods vehicle goes to turn left at a roundabout, the back door swings open seeing hundreds of milk cartoons crash to the ground.

"Lucky there were no cyclists or pedestrians in the area," said the filmer.

The truck driver makes it round the corner before spotting the trail of milk behind and stopping the vehicle.

North Yorkshire Police tweeted: "Traffic alert - A lorry that has shed its load of milk by the retail park on Hookstone Chase in #Harrogate.

"Our officers at the scene say there is currently heavy traffic in the area."

They later added: "The HGV has now left the road and traffic is flowing again."
