This is the dramatic moment an overloaded delivery truck toppled over and nearly crushed a passing motorcycle rider in Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows the 22-wheeler tilted on its right side while carrying bundles of sugar cane through Chaiyaphum province on January 8.

A motorcycled sped past just as the truck flipped onto its side, the cargo spilling out and blocking an entire lane on the road.

Its rider, Watcharin Pornkhuntod, crawled out from the shattered windscreen and was apparently unharmed.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Pairoj Wongnara dispatched rescuers and towing services to clear the area.

Watcharin said: 'I was bringing the sugar cane the Thep Sathit district, Chaiyaphum to a mill in the Bamnet Narong district.

'The truck suddenly lost balance on a curve and flipped on the road. The windshield also broke, so I climbed through it when I regained my senses.'

There were no injuries reported in the accident.

Local media reported that a different truck also carrying sugar cane had previously overturned in the same area - a steep and curved mountain road sloping downhill.
