Chinese residents bemused by strange object illuminating night sky
Residents in Xinjiang, northwestern China, were bemused as they spotted a mysterious object illuminating the night sky.
Video filmed in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on September 21 shows a glowing object being spotted moving across the sky in Karamay City, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture and Altay Prefecture respectively.
A government officer from Karamay city said to Xinjiang Television that they have noticed the object but do not know the specific situation yet.
Some tech bloggers explained that the object may have been the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft, a Russian Soyuz spaceflight, that was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to the International Space Station.
