The Lord Mayor of London, Vincent Keaveny, was joined by celebrity broadcaster, author and farmer Kate Humble for the traditional if slightly bizarre London Sheep Drive across London Bridge on Sunday 25 September.

The Sheep Drive took place in a fenced off walkway of the bridge, to allow cars, pedestrians and others to continue to use the bridge while the sheep also trotting over it, followed by two sheepdogs.

Hosted by The Worshipful Company of Woolmen — one of whom joined the Lord Mayor and Ms Humble for the bridge walk — the Sheep Drive is a long-established charity event, celebrating a Freeman’s ancient “right” to bring sheep to market over the Thames, toll free.

The event raised funds for The Woolmen Charity and The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
