A 5-year-old girl has gone viral after her mum shared a clip of her trying to avoid the morning wake-up call for school.

Lauren Turner, 30, from Hertfordshire, UK, went into her daughter Summer’s room to innocently wake her up for school but was met with a decidedly moody child.

Filming her, the two hilariously bicker, as Summer protests having to get out of bed to start the day.

In the video, Summer can be seen sitting upright in bed in her pyjamas, looking outraged.

She says: “You do that every single day! ‘Summer, wake up’ – you’re not letting me sleep.”

Her mum says “But it’s school”, to which Summer responds: “I’m still tired.”

The little girl looks very put out as she leans back in bed and puts her head in her hands.

“But you’ve got to wake up for school,” her mum insists.

Sassy Summer scowls at her and repeats: “Every single day you wake me up.”

Lauren says: “Don’t look at me like that – I’m just doing what I’ve got to do to get you up and ready for school.”

Summer hilariously stares her down, blinking slowly and looking decidedly displeased.

“I thought Summer’s reaction was hilarious as she really meant what she was saying,” Lauren, who runs events company BalloonsInWonderland, said.

“She gets a full night’s sleep but must have been super tired that morning. She’s a typical child who hates being woken up on a weekday but when it comes to a weekend she’s up at the crack of dawn.”

Lauren shared the funny clip on TikTok, where it was viewed 2.2 million times and racked up 290,000 likes.

One user commented: “Honestly I feel the exact same way about my alarm clock.”

“That’s how I feel every morning,” agreed another viewer.

Someone else said: “I understand her. Completely.”

Lauren added: “The reaction has been crazy but I totally get why it’s happened because it’s so relatable – that feeling of your alarm going off of being woken up by mum when you just want another hour is horrible!”
