This is the lost English hamlet of Mardale Green at the north end of Haweswater in the Lake District.

Despite heavy rain in the area over the weekend, the ruins have emerged from the low waters.

Filmed on Sunday 16 October.

Cumbria, along with most areas of England and Wales is still under drought conditions and are expected to remain as such until 2023.

Haweswater reservoir, which supplies the city of Manchester with drinking water is dramatically low compared to average levels. This has uncovered dry stone walls and what's left of an old house complete with stone doorway.

It was submerged in the late 1930s when the water level of the valley's lake was raised to form Haweswater Reservoir by Manchester Corporation.
