An illuminated object was captured streaking across the sky in northern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province on October 25.

A student named Li accidentally captured the illuminated object when she was recording her friend on a playground.

According to Li, the UFO flew at a fast speed with tailing flame and gave off strange green light, which looked like a meteor.

A senior meteorite expert named Zhang Baolin at Beijing Planetarium said that the UFO seemed like a bolide. But it can only be confirmed after the debris is found.

A bolide is a meteoric phenomenon produced by the fall of a larger meteoroid.

When the meteoroids travel at high speed through the dense lower atmosphere of the Earth, large amounts of material volatilise and burn in the atmosphere, emitting a dazzling light that looks like a giant fire dragon and a thundering sound.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
