Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment Mark Cavendish crashed spectacularly during the sixth stage of the Tour of Britain 2015.

The video, captured by a spectator Friday on Gun Hill, Leek, UK, shows the moment the cyclist appears to clip a parked car and go down.

He's then taken to hospital, unable to finish the race, where he was reportedly confirmed not to have suffered any broken bones.

Mark Cavendish, member of Etixx Quick Step cycling team, taking part in the 2015 Tour of Britain stage 6 from Stoke-on-Trent to Nottingham clips a parked car at the top of Gun Hill and crashes heavily on his shoulder. He subsequently retires from the race and is taken to hospital.

This crash happens on the same day Mark is named in the Great Britain squad for the upcoming cycling UCI Road World Championships in Richmond USA. It is still to be confirmed if he will recover from the injury to make the world championships.
