A pet dog has an unexpected friendship with their neighbour's piglet to the amusement of their owners.

Footage shows the inseparable duo - a one-year-old pooch named Bogart and a three-month-old teacup pig named Bik - outside their home in Rizal, the Philippines, on November 2.

Dog owner Arriane Oliva said the two creatures met each other in the neighbourhood and became instant best friends.

She said: ‘We just saw Bogart playing with our next-door neighbour's pig. Ever since they saw each other Big would always follow our dog around and just come home to eat.'

Arriane added Bik was supposed to be sold in the piggery, but he does not grow.

She said: ‘His owners thought he was a teacup pig or a micro pig, so they didn't sell him.

‘He was allowed to roam around the yard like a dog since then. Now the pig and the dog would always meet up to play.'
