An innocent pet dog had to be rescued when he climbed out on a roof to watch the sunrise.

The three-year-old fluffy Pomeranian pooch named Japan sneaked out of the window and walked to the neighbour's home in Phuket province, Thailand on January 8.

Shocked owners then pulled him to safety as he was only a few inches from falling off the ledge while appearing to enjoy the view.

Footage shows the pet owner luring the dog to come to him before carrying him up.

Pet owner Prawpichy said: ‘He could have fallen 15ft to the concrete ground. We were startled when we finally saw him on the roof after searching around the house.'

The adorable pooch was unhurt while the window was locked by his owners.
